A reminder that the Vale of Belvoir Lions Club will be holding their 36th Annual Boxing Day Duck Race commencing at 11 a.m. Seven hundred numbered plastic ducks will be dropped into the River Devon, at Washdyke Bridge near Station Road and Grantham Road (old A52), Bottesford NG13. They will travel to the finishing line near St Marys Church, off Rectory Lane where the first 5 ducks and the last duck home will win a prize. 1st (£100), 2nd (£50), 3rd (£30), 4th (Bottle Gin), 5th (Bottle Prosecco) and the last duck (FM/AM Duck radio). All monies made this year will be divided between the Children’s Bereavement Centre and Counselling and Support for Young People (CASY) both based in Newark.. Ducks can be pre-purchased at various local businesses located in Bottesford and some will, hopefully, still be available to purchase on Boxing Day morning prior to the race starting. Promises to be another “quacking” event!! Follow our updates on the Vale of Belvoir Lions Facebook pages.
